Crown Isle Community

The valley is home to three main communities: Courtenay, Comox, and Cumberland, each offering its own unique character and charm. The area is easily accessible, with the Comox Valley Airport providing convenient connections to major cities. 

The Crown Isle Community is conveniently located in Courtenay. With a new Comox Valley Regional Hospital, an airport minutes away, recreational outlets in every direction, day-to-day amenities close by and Canada’s most temperate climate, the Courtenay & Crown Isle offer a lifestyle arguably unmatched throughout most of Canada.

From skins to fins, fresh tracks to dirt trails, the Comox Valley offers a wider variety of outdoor recreation options.

Crown Isle’s Championship 19-Hole Golf Course is at your doorstep, plus other Vancouver Island courses are nearby for players of all abilities.

Amenities & Services

The North Island Hospital – Comox Valley campus opened to patients in 2017 and is a five-minute drive from the Crown Isle community.

The proximity of the Comox Valley Airport makes travel convenient for both residents and visitors, connecting us to Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, and Puerto Vallarta.

There are several shopping centres, including the Driftwood Mall and our very own Crown Isle Plaza, offering a variety of retail stores, boutiques, and services for convenient shopping experiences.

The Comox Valley is equipped with well-maintained recreation facilities. The Comox Valley Sports Centre features ice rinks, swimming pools, and fitness facilities, catering to sports and fitness enthusiasts of all ages.

The Comox Valley nurtures a thriving arts and culture scene. There are large events throughout the year showcasing local and world talent, including Vancouver Island Musicfest and the Filberg Festival. The Sid Williams Theatre hosts a variety of performances, while the Comox Valley Art Gallery showcases local artwork. The Native Sons Hall is a cultural hub hosting events and gatherings.

Every Saturday, there is a farmer’s market in Courtenay, and in Cumberland on Sundays, with a variety of vendors selling fresh produce, plants, crafts and more. There are also many farm stands in the Comox Valley area, including Sieffert’s Farm Market, a large farm stand a short drive from Crown Isle that operates most of the summer.

The Vancouver Island Regional Library operates branches in Courtenay and Comox, providing access to books, resources, and community programs. Additionally, there are community centre that offer a range of activities and programs for residents of all ages.

The Comox Valley has an impressive culinary scene, with a wide range of restaurants, cafes, and eateries. Enjoy farm-to-table experiences, fresh seafood, local wineries, and craft breweries. The annual BC Seafood Festival is a showcase of local and world culinary talent.

The Crown Isle community offers close access to North Island College as well as elementary and secondary schools. The community offers a range of educational opportunities, including specialized training centres, ensuring access to quality education and lifelong learning.
